HOUSE of the RISING SUN.The House of the Rising Sun is one of the most notorious and scandalous burlesque halls in New Orleans. Even though prostitution is illegal in Louisiana, New Orleans has cast a blind eye over the hall after the extensive damage done to their city and the amount of money going in to rebuild the devastation. Plus, nearly half of the New Orleans police department supports and participates in the antics of the Rising Sun, so no one is about to tattle now.
The part restaurant, part stage show, part casino, and part penthouse is known world-wide as having the most beautiful and spectacular talent. Both women and men have sold their souls to the Rising Sun; which even at its worst, is far better than the street life. Managed by ex-circus ringmaster, Jean-Claude Chartier, he runs his brothel like a hard-working business and doesn't take crap from anybody. He does what he can to make his money, even if it's at the cost of his performers.
Many civilians of New Orleans come to the Rising Sun out of loneliness, desperation, or lustful curiousity. Many spend their life-savings on the casino tables, persuaded by the beautiful performers. Others, like executive businessmen, come to the House in order to rent out one of their few lavish suites and have the best company in town. No one is safe from sin in this town; because if you're not working at the Rising Sun, you're probably trapped in its sequined-lined, perfume-scented, velvety drama. How many innocent people have lost their souls to the Rising Sun is unknown; the only question is:
will you spend your life in sin and misery at the House of the Rising Sun?
