hey there ! i'm sophie bryan , secretary at FEARLESS studios. we're just gonna do a small interview to get to know you, mmkay ?
'okay!'
okay , so , please state your name before we start anything .
'Brandi Rose Chagoya.'
wow , that's a really interesting name. does it mean anything ?
'Um… I’m not really sure. I think my parents just liked Brandi, and Rose is of course a flower. Chagoya’s just my last name, nothing special.'
hmm , awesome . are there other names that you preferred to be called by ?
'I don’t really have a nickname. I go by Rosey sometimes, but my little sister started a funny joke about how I’m better than candy, and she calls me Bracandi.'
okay then, BRANDI. before we start , i just want you to know that everything here is confidential , so don't be afraid to share things with me. now, describe yourself for me.
'I think I’m pretty nice, for the most part. I love trying different and new things, so I’m definitely daring, and I care for others.'
is there anything about your personality that you don't like ?
'When I’m not feeling good, I can get pretty moody. I’m not usually, and I don’t have an attitude on a regular basis, but mess with me when I’m down in the dumps or sick, then you’re cruising for a bruising.'
you don't sound that bad , haha . now, do you mind telling me things about your past ? i'm curious .
'I was born on November 16, 1990. My parents are the most loving people in the world. They truly are the best, and so are my siblings. I have the best family in the world. When I was younger, my biological dad died, I think I was around ten or eleven. But, my stepdad is really, really sweet and I think of him as my father.'
wow , interesting . now , who makes up your family ?
'My parents are Maria and Jose Chagoya. My stepdad is Devin. My younger siblings are Mariah, she’s twelve. Joanna’s seven, Dennis and Brock are four, and my youngest sibling Teagan is eighteen months.'
nice family you got . now , how did you get into the hollywood business ?
'I was in a talent show when I was eleven years old for school, and talent agents were in the audience. Apparently, I was the best singer and they signed me to Fearless. I recorded two kids albums that were remakes of older songs, but when I was thirteen I started singing my own songs. My first really big hit was ‘Walk Away’ and I was fourteen at the time, so it was a big change for me.'
you must love your job , right ? i would love to do what you do . what interests you the most about it though?
'I love meeting fans. My fans are little kids, teenagers, and even adults like my music. I’ve had a couple of senior citizens compliment me on my work too, and that really means a lot because not many of the elderly listen to the kind of music most teenagers listen to. I sing oldies songs that were made way back in the fifties, sixties, and seventies, and I do other generations too, so it’s not just my pop tracks that catch peoples’ attention, but it the songs that people can really relate to and stuff like that; it’s great.'
but it can't be that easy . there must be a few things that you hate about being famous ?
'The only thing that really bugs me is the rumors. The paparazzi gets pretty bad, too, but that comes with the job. The rumors do too, but it’s plain ridiculous to just make up a stupid rumor about someone. Last year, there were rumors that I was pregnant, that I was getting married, that I was trying to kill myself. That stuff is just totally not true. I’m still really young; I have plenty of time for marriage and kids, and I’d never committ suicide. It’s just stupid.'
interesting . do you look up to anyone for advice or anything ?
'My parents and my stepdad. My parents taught me how to value everything around me, and my stepdad teaches me things I thought never were able to be true or possible.'
aw , that's nice. now, list some things you enjoy doing on your spare time, if you have any .
'I love singing, obviously. Other than that, I like to go shopping, I like bowling, I like to swim. I’m a total kid when it comes to the park. I love playing on the climbing domes and things like that.'
there must be some things that you hate as well , right?
'I don’t like pollution. It’s killing us all, and it’s ridiculous that the majority of the people in this world don’t give a crap about making everyone better, even themselves.'
awkward question coming up , heh . how's your sex life ?
'It’s tolerable and content.'
so you're not a virgin?
'Nope.'
now, are you in a relationship with anyone?
'Actually, I’m not. I have those friends with benefits sort of things with a couple guys. I know it’s not a good example, but everyone has something they’re not too proud of. It’s who I am, though; I’m not gonna change myself for one person, unless I know it’s really something to me.'
that's basically our interview, thanks BRANDI. but before you leave, is there anything else we should know?
'I lost my virginity with my cousin. He’s my third cousin, and we didn’t know that we were related at the time. It seems gross, but it was actually really innocent; we had no clue that we were cousins.'
oh wow , that's one for the books. just kidding BRANDI . we won't tell, promise. thanks for sitting down with us, and have fun working on your latest project !
'Thank you so much!'

The beach had always been one of her favorite places. As a child, she came here religiously. The only times she wasn’t seen here, was because she was sick. That changed around a year ago. Of course, it changed for a good reason. Her year-old son, Seth is the only reason for her changes. She doesn’t regret them, though. She’d do anything for that little boy. He’s the center of her world, and she’d never change that. She couldn’t believe that he was already a year old. It’s like it was just yesterday that she was giving birth to him. She didn’t want to relive the pain, but she’d go back in time to that day, just to experience holding him for the first time. She didn’t know what it was about Seth, but she’d fallen head over heels with him when she found out she was pregnant. She didn’t plan him. In fact, he wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t gotten raped. The first time.
Rape isn’t something anyone should be proud of, especially the victim. But, there’s a little part of Lovelin that’s grateful for it happening to her, otherwise Seth wouldn’t be here right now. If he weren’t in her life, she’d probably be on a completely different path and she didn’t know exactly what path that would be. She’s happy with where she’s at right now, despite all the drama that’s happened to her. She’s gone through a lot in her twenty-two years of being on Earth. She had to relive her rape a couple months ago. That’s something that completely destroyed her. She’s not different in the way she appears to be or anything like that, but she’s adopted a new sense of mind. Never again will she go to a party and agree to talk to someone. She should have been smarter than that.
The first time didn’t happen like the second time. The first time was in her own room. She still doesn’t know who it was or how they even got it, but she remembers everything that happened very vividly. She remembers just laying there because she was in shock. She didn’t even do anything. Technically, it wasn’t actually rape, because she never said ‘stop’ or ‘no’ or anything of the sort. She was just still and quiet from the shock that hit her. The second time around was completely different. She doesn’t remember who the guy is, and she doesn’t even remember what he looks like. She does remember what happened, though. She was thrashing around, yelling, screaming, crying, and sobbing. She was trying to push him off of her, but it wasn’t any use. She’s not as strong as he was.
Sighing, Lovelin put Seth down on the sand, holding his hand. He just learned to walk last week and it was the most magical moment Lovelin had ever experienced, except for the first time he said ‘Mama’. The smallest things mean the world to her, especially coming from Seth. Now, she had to think of another baby. The baby that isn’t her boyfriend’s. She feels horrible about it. Sure, they’re not completely ready for a baby of their own, but she’d rather be having a baby with him than some guy she doesn’t know. Of course, not everything goes as planned. If they did, she wouldn’t have any kids yet. She wanted to get married before she had kids. She’s not one of those ‘wait until marriage for sexual intercourse’ but she did like the rule about kids should be at least eighteen.
People have tried to pin Seth against her, saying that she didn’t wait until she was eighteen. The truth was, if she hadn’t been raped, she might have still been a virgin. Sure, she’d had sexual encounters with her boyfriend, but she believes that she wouldn’t have any encounters if she hadn’t been sexually abused the first time. Even if she were to be sexually active before her first rape, she was still an adult, and shouldn’t be told that she’s not any better. In her world, she is better because she chose to wait. But, in reality, it’s just her opinion. No one’s opinion mattered anymore; everyone has their own. That’s the only part of growing up Lovelin liked; having her own opinion. When she was younger, she sided with her parents over everything, but now she realizes that she sided with them on things that she disagrees with.
Pushing those thoughts away from her head, she kept hold of Seth’s hand as he toddled back and forth in the sand. He seemed like it was new to him, but Lovelin had brought him here quite a few times. Of course, Seth is only a year old and probably doesn’t even remember what he had for breakfast this morning. He’s probably as forgetful as Lovelin herself. She’d gotten better at remembering, but she still has her days where she forgets certain things. Nothing important, though. Anything important goes in her cell phone and she always makes sure it’s charged so she doesn’t miss any alerts. Sitting down in the sand, she let go of Seth’s hand and kept her eye on him. Thankfully, he followed his mother and sat down as well, just a few feet in front of her.
